Yes, it is drastic but the stuff also has to appeal to a young audience bent on action, murder and drastic heroism. I hear today’s youngsters have an attention span of eight minutes – a movie which doesn’t proffer an explosion or a tornado right in the first few scenes comes across as boring. My generation (the sixties, people) was trained to read books like “War and Peace” from the first page to the last. We also enjoy movies without train crashes and folding streets as long as the story is gripping.
The problem I see here: How can a man hold two newborns in his arms and manage to look calm and in charge at the same time? Jeffrey – pardon, Issa – will have to manage it somehow. Mr. Erik Feig and his Summit Entertainment team will have to cast a family man for this role. Have a look at how well Hugh Laurie manages little Rachel in “Dr. House” – the man has two sons of his own, there you go!
